Lezhin is a Korean webtoon/webcomic company that started off selling themselves as a platform for authors but had some noise along the way already with MG system and sudden closure of their novel service.
TL;DR- December 5th, a petition opened asking the Blue House(Korean White House) to open tax investigation for Lezhin - other than the issue of late fees, unfair distribution of sales(oversea sales distribution varies from 9:1~8:2, 9/8 being the company), suspicion of excluding the works of authors who had criticized the company from various events and suggestion lists(preventing exposure leading straight to their income), Grey’s and other authors accounts shed doubt on the transparency of the company’s operations on overseas publications and possible tax evasions. The ultimate goal is to establish a standard or law that prevent platforms(not only Lezhin) taking advantage of webtoon artists.
